Foreclosure may be a thing of the past

Saturday, January 15, 2011

According to a post in the Sun Sentinel there may be an end in sight for the foreclosure epidemic.

According to Weston attorney, Roy Oppenheim, foreclosures are set to decline sharply this year. Mr. Oppenheim explains that lawyers for lenders are more careful about filing cases and banks are becoming more reluctant to proceed with foreclosure proceedings. With fewer homes being foreclosed on the result will be more short sales, loan modifications and even mediation.

With less foreclosures and more alternate means of coping with underwater homeowners, housing prices should begin to stabilize.
